About Ari Speaks

Arionne Yvette

Hey everyone!  I’m Arionne, but you can call me Ari.  I am on a mission to live life unapologetically pursuing purpose, passion, fun, faith and love!  And AriSpeaks.com just happens to be the place where I spill all the juicy details of the things I see, feel, hear, and learn along the way.  Here I am brutally honest and totally transparent, not because I want to tell the world my business, but because I want to inspire you to take this journey with me.  Here, we SPEAK our own truth. Here, we chase dreams and live big!  So are you ready ?  Well, then, let’s GO!!!

But first…here is a little info about me!

I come from a big, beautiful, and loving family!  Between the 3 sides of my fam (yes 3), I cannot count them all!  Click on My Family page to learn more about my peoples!

I am originally from Kansas City, MO, home of the Kansas City Chiefs, the one and only Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts (c/o 01), great barbecue, and the incredible jazz of Charlie Parker!

I  studied at the REAL H.U., that is, Howard University, Washington DC, a.k.a. the MECCA of black education.  There I earned a B.S. in Human Development  with a specialization in child and adolescent development with a Minor in Voice.   Most importantly, it was on the sacred grounds of Howard that I learned to think critically, conduct scientific research, and articulate my own thoughts in a scholarly manner.  HU!!!

I was also blessed to earn a Master of Divinity with a concentration in music ministry from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL.  There, I experienced true community, especially with “the fam” (Shout out to G.E.B.S.!), and developed a love for scholarship.  In order to serve young people more faithfully, I later completed a Certificate in Youth and Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, NJ.

I have had a strong and life-long interest in issues concerning women and girls, especially our empowerment, spirituality, and education.  This explains my involvement with organizations like the Women’s Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women the National Council of Negro Women, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  I have supported groups like Girls, Inc and am a mentor to young women in my home church.

God has made many of my former aspirations my realities!  I can’t wait to see how the Lord will finally bring all my talents and interests together.  All praise to you, Lord!

I currently live in the Kansas City area where I work in public service and youth ministry.

I love to laugh, dance, sing, teach, write and spend time with loved ones.  I’m serious about maintaining my sexy, and I don’t play about my shoe game.  I really don’t.

I’m excited to get to know you.  So don’t be a stranger.  Give me a shout.  Holla at me!  SPEAK!!!

Hey sis, congrats on setting up the blog. This is a good platform for you to flex your theological, pnematoloigical, and eschatological muscles. I appreciate your hermenutic of suspicion regarding MTV. I have not seen it yet, but will be using it to conduct some field research soon. And I echo Nurse Watkins which means I won’t have to pull your scholar card after all. :-)
